TEER CONTROL TEST RESISTORS

Conducting Transepithelial/transendothelial electrical resistance (TEER) across a cellular monolayer is a standard and reliable method used across most laboratories to confirm the integrity and permeability of the monolayer cultures grown on tissue culture inserts.

When using a TEER measurement device, one must confirm that the values obtained by the TEER device are accurate. In most cases, a single control resistor is used to validate the accuracy of such devices. However, taking 1 control measurement for quality control checks is not sufficient. There is a need for a multi-point control resistance device to validate the accuracy of TEER measurement devices.

Teer control for in-vitro exposure

MedTec has developed a TEER Control Test Resistors module to meet the needs of researchers conducting TEER measurements. Our initial modules, as shown in the images here, contain 4 control resistance measurements of 200, 500, 1000, and 2000 ohms. After close discussions with researchers and in an effort to capture the whole resistance spectrum, our new modules will include a total of 8 control resistance measurements of 10, 50, 100, 250, 500, 1000, 2500, and 5000 ohms.
